My life according to what I’ve been eating:

Torchy’s tacos!!! I’m obsessed with this place.

SSPX0207
A variation of this pasta recipe. Made with organic vegetable pasta from Wheatsville Co-op.

My friend Megan and I baked a tosca cake (swedish almond cake) and watched Pride and Prejudice on a Wednesday night. I love summer and girls nights in.

Date

Posted: July 7th, 2010

On Monday I had lunch with my dad at North. We ate delicious Italian food and chatted mostly about his work and my internship. He treated me to lunch and I treated him to Starbucks after. I love dates with my daddy!

Day 07: A photo that makes you happy.

SSPX0169

Em and I got snow cones yesterday. Eventually we moved to sit on the ledge of a pawn shop’s store front and talked and people-watched. I love parking lots, and snow cones, and Emily.

This is us at Frosted in April. We’re rocking ray bans and eating ice cream cupcakes. I love this girl. We are kindred spirits.

Mint chocolate chip ice cream inside. Delish.

My 3rd blog entry for today. It’s just one of those days.

PS: I finally got around to downloading pictures off of my digital camera. I’ll be reliving New York in a futre blog entry.

My love affair with spaghetti

Posted: June 23rd, 2010

SSPX0132

Yesterday my friend Betho and I made the meatiest spaghetti sauce I have had in a long time. Everyone close to me knows that I love spaghetti and can eat it multiple times a week and enjoy it every time. In fact, tonight I’m planning on cooking spaghetti with another friend.

Invitation

050_CordialInvites_4

you are cordially invited to be courageous and vulnerable.

I would love to get something like this in my mail. See other invitations here.

Speaking of mail, after I finish this blog entry, I’m mailing a letter to my pen pal.

A few random thoughts on a Monday afternoon:

  • This morning I woke up early to go to the airport and send friends off to Costa Rica for missions. I’m so proud of my friends and I eagerly await blog updates and the stories they will bring back about God and His love for this country.
  • I have a netflix movie coming in. Have you guys seen Ponyo? I have seen many Miyazaki films and I’m looking forward to watching this one.
  • Yesterday I started designing a new header but I didn’t make anything I was satisfied with. I am head over heels for this header by Deerlings & Ghostthings. I love the bunting and the sprinkle of color! Love! Click here for the full size.

  • I see God working in my friends’ lives all the time. I am blessed when people share with me, when I read blog entries, tweets, and status updates all centered around Jesus. Sometimes I feel like in my life it doesn’t seem as obvious, but I know He’s working and blessing me like crazy always.
  • Yesterday after lunch with James, Peter noticed one of my wheels looked flat. He drove home behind me, and checked my tire pressure and helped me fill it up. Endearing, right? Moments like those I find myself thanking God I have people in my life looking out for me.
  • Speaking of the boyfriend, today is Monday night, which means date night! Hopefully I’ll have some pictures to show for it. I haven’t been too great at documenting our time together this summer. Here’s a camera phone picture of banana bread we baked last Monday. It was very delicious, unlike last summer … we failed big time and made really dry bread (see the second picture).

    Success!

    Not so much.

Happy Monday! I leave you with a verse from Philippians:

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

amazing!

Guess who went off campus today? YOURS TRULY.

For my design class we took a field trip to Color Graphics. Afterwards Yuri, Lilli, and I went to the infamous Urth Caffe. Good company and good food = two thumbs way up. Pictured is my buttery croissant with blackberry jam and brie.

Cheers for cherry

Posted: March 27th, 2010

chocolate
Someone get me to Seattle, NOW! Pictured is hot chocolate with cherry flavored whipped cream (and it’s in a well-designed cup).

This would make up for the disappointing soy latte I got today at shop cafe.

Starbucks’s dark cherry mocha will satisfy my cherry cravings until I get myself to seattle.

Have a good weekend all.

Scones!

Scones ready to go in the oven!

I just finished baking some cranberry-chocolate scones for my friend’s birthday. The apartment smells delicious. I modified this recipe.

I want to eventually try this blueberry-coconut scones recipe. I have so many recipes bookmarked! If I don’t get around to the blueberry-coconut scones, I plan to make some hummus and black bean burgers :)

(This is not a picture of the batch I just made. It’s an old picture from when I baked for church several weeks back. Yes, I make these scones a lot.)
