For a friend’s surprise birthday party I made some rainbow bunting! A couple of my friends knew immediately I was in charge of decorations because they know how much I love bunting.

I punched holes in triangles and strung ribbon through it. The tiny circles were sprinkled around this ranunculus (I found a bouquet for the birthday girl at Austin Flower Co on 35th street. Check it out! They have a great selection). I used light green ribbon for the triangles on the fireplace and sparkly gold ribbon (you can’t see it in the picture) through the bigger triangles (below).

I’m posting this picture because it makes me laugh. I totally get in a zone when I do creative-design-related stuff. My friend Betho (who took these pictures, thank you love) captioned the picture on facebook: Helen in her “internship” mode. Look at those eyes. So concentrated. So focused. Haha.
Thanks to my gorgeous girl friends Betho, Em, Alice, and Jenn for helping me put them up.

Isn’t this picture dreamy? And guess what? I know these people!! This is one of my besties, miss Alice, with her boyfriend. The picture is by their friend Christopher Lew.
I had a wonderful Easter. My chuch had a special sunrise service up at Griffith park. The view was beautiful and I wish I had a picture to share with yall.
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind but now I see.

Photo shoot, anyone? I would love to wear a mask and sequins and frolic in the woods. Let’s make this happen.
This morning I woke up and the first thought that came to mind was I am so sick of being hard on myself.

Senior year I was in Paris (incredible! I heart!)
Freshmen year I was in Los Angeles (skateboarding, beaching, and cooking with Kae)
Finally! I’ll get to experience Austin in spring (I heard the weather is wonderful right now).
I have a couples things on my to-do list:
As long as I accomplish the above two things, I’ll be happy.
Other things that should go down:
And now for my usual slew of whimsy pictures:

Like a true hipster, I love the floral trend going down these days. It’s the new plaid and I heart it. Unfortunately I can’t pull off cute high-waisted floral skirts because my calves are huge and I just look awkward. I do however have some floral tops and hope to add more “vintage-y” floral pieces when I go thrifting over break.

Texas state outline, anyone?

If I knew I wouldn’t get sick of the image on the left I would get it tattooed somewhere (shoulder blade). I really need to grow out of this tattoo phase. Is getting one the only way to get over it?

Lovely. Absolutely lovely.

Not really whimsy, but I saw Green Zone tonight (or I guess last night..since I’m blogging early Saturday morning…though I should be packing!) and I wanted to share with the world a picture of Matt Damon.
Happy Spring Break!
(sorry for lack of credits, i forgot where i got a lot of these images
must keep better track of the many images i save daily)

Keys to the City. How lovely.

I might be eating cupcakes today :] These bicycles ones are adorable.

It wouldn’t be a Helen blog entry without something girly. Pretty belt from Jcrew (now on sale!).
Have a good weekend all! Sorry for the lack of updates!

1. Kate Spade’s current homepage. So adorable.

2. This rainbow cake is so amazing!!

3. The way these kid drawings is displayed

4. The order goes like this: Used copies of The Little Prince > Pop-up version (why don’t I own this yet?) > Current versions

5. This Psalm is pretty. I love God’s Word!
He will cover you with His feathers,
and under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
