Snapped this picture today in Design III. My design crush (I really like his design style. Very PTMK) wore a cardinal and gold bow tie today in honor of the USC vs. Hawaii game tonight. Anyone else like bow ties? I love them.
The energy in my Design III class is amazing. There is so much talent in the room. I am ridiculously intimidated. Currently I am working on a poster for a re-designed space. I picked Mount Bonnell (a view point overlooking lake austin and the skyline) also known as the most romantic place in Austin. In my opinion, you are not in a relationship until you have 1)made it official on facebook and 2)been to Mount Bonnell. I am redefining the space into a kids space (think outdoor children’s museum). I have never designed something of this size (poster??!!) and I can’t wait to share the final product (if it turns out alright…).
Happy Thursday!
PS: I’ll be at the first ICA large group when the game goes down. Shocker, I hardly follow football…I am a pretty bad Texan in that sense.

From my sister’s NYC blog.
I am most likely taking a design class next semester that revolves around going to the city during spring break to visit design companies and attend workshops and museums. Spring is months away but I’m already excited.
Love the city. Love design.

I read a ton of wedding blogs for my own interest and for my internship, so most of the images I have been saving are wedding related and a little different from the usual whimsy I post up.

I have been thinking about personal branding. Hopefully in the next couple weeks I’ll have a logo to show you all. I am also working on redesigning miss kite. Portfolio website, maybe?
Have a good weekend faithful readers.

This blue one is nice too:

Here are some icons that I made in illustrator for a project I’m working on for work. The design is going in a different direction, so I’m no longer using them, but I like them enough to showcase them here. I had a difficult time with the last icon. It’s a dress (just fyi, if you can’t tell). Before I tweaked it, no joke, it looked like a cat.

Excuse the brightness of the icons. They exported incorrectly.

you are cordially invited to be courageous and vulnerable.
I would love to get something like this in my mail. See other invitations here.
Speaking of mail, after I finish this blog entry, I’m mailing a letter to my pen pal.
A few random thoughts on a Monday afternoon:

Success!

Not so much.
Happy Monday! I leave you with a verse from Philippians:
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
amazing!

Some updates:
- I recently purchased an ESV Study Bible. It is so wonderful (and heavy). Plus you get online access. Woho!
- My intern at Clink has taken over my life (in a good way). I’m on email all the time! I’m soaking it all in and enjoying the experience. I am grateful to God for giving me this opportunity to learn more about the event planning industry. I met my bosses at this event (Hotel for Hope launch party) and I recently worked a wedding. I’ll post/link those pictures when they are up.
- I recently signed up for Netflix. Slumdog Millionaire came in the mail and I watched it with Peter last night. Finally! I love the dancing at the end of the movie (I am going through dance withdrawal!). Next on the queue? The Sting. I love me some Paul Newman! Here’s a picture for other fans:

- Ever since I started twittering, I’ve blogged a lot less. I’ve never been much of a writer, so 140 characters is just right for me. Check out my sister’s new york city blog for more content. You should also read this post by friend Yuri (I promise I’m not plugging it just because I’m mentioned at the end). I love the way Yuri writes. I am especially fond of this one line from the entry:
Now, years later, I taped the envelope to the wall above my lightswitch as a reminder that not only am I loved, but to stop searching for reasons to love others and to simply do it.
- Thanks for reading all.
